Robert Harper
Robert Harper is a professional musician that's currently busy as a Session Bassist, Solo Recording Artist, Music Instructor, and Music Product Marketer. He is known as a Session Bassist for his funky infectious grooves which he lends to various Artists throughout the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia,) area. He studied electric bass guitar and upright double bass at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California with Oskar Cartaya, Bob Magnusson, Jeff Berlin, Tim Bogart, guest instructors Louis Johnson, and Nathan East. Privately on his own time Robert has studied with jazz/fusion bassist Bunny Brunel & jazz guitarist/bassist Frank Potenza. Movie, Television, and Radio appearances have included Background Acting (Central Casting), Music Director for the variety show "In The House" filmed at the (Downey Cable Network) in Downey, California and in-depth interviews with song airplay at (WQTQ Radio) and (WTRC Radio) in Hartford, Connecticut and (KPCC Radio) in Pasadena, California. He has played with funk legends Louis Johnson (The Brothers Johnson), Robert Wilson (The GapBand), and R&B crooners (The California Executives) amongst others. He's also shared the stage with former Disney Mouseketeer, Actress, and Christian soul vocal artist Raquel Herring. Robert Harper is also an active member of The Recording Academy and has recorded three solo albums to date.
