Luigi Schiavone

Italian guitarist born on 8 September 1959 in Rome, for many years a collaborator of Enrico Ruggeri.

he made his debut in the seventies in Kaos Rock , a well-known band in the Milanese underground, with whom he released two singles and the album W.W. 3 for the historic Cramps label .

In 1981, after the end of Kaos Rock, he began his long collaboration with Enrico Ruggeri , on the occasion of the release of the singer-songwriter's first solo album, Champagne Molotov . It is the prelude to Ruggeri's next album, Polvere (1983) , whose leading song, which gives the album its title, has the music composed by Schiavone himself , and allows Ruggeri to start making himself known to the general public. With this LP the historical nucleus of Molotov Champagne was born: Luigi Schiavone and Renato Meli . In 1984 Luigi published C’è la neve, the first 45 rpm of the Molotov Champagne .

The band accompanies Ruggeri on tour and is composed in the final line-up by: Luigi Schiavone (guitars), Renato Meli (bass), Stefania Schiavone (piano), Alberto Rocchetti (keyboards) and Luigi Fiore (drums). That year Champagne Molotov took part in the Festivalbar, winning the Disco Verde, as best young artist. In 1985 the Champagne Molotov participated in the Sanremo Festival , in the category of young people, with the song (also composed by Schiavone among other things) Faces in boredom.

Over the years with Champagne Molotov, Schiavone continues to compose also for Enrico Ruggeri, a partnership that continues over the years, passing through 4 solo albums by the guitarist (in 1991 La spina nel lato, with a contribution by Massimo Riva, in 1993 Animal, in 1997 III and, in 2010, 16 Steps to the Sky, his first fully instrumental album).

The last few years have seen Schiavone founding the cover band Riff-Raff, a tribute to AC-DC, with whom he plays for a few years for pure pleasure and participates, around Italy, in evenings The night of the Guitars, together with Maurizio Solieri, Cesareo, Ricky Portera, Max Cottafavi, Luca Colombo, Mario Giuseppe Scarpato and Fabrizio Consoli.

In 1995 Schiavone plays the guitars in the song “ Meravigliosa creature ” by Gianna Nannini.

In 2008 he plays in " Tear Down These Houses", a piece by Skin, the soundtrack of the film "Parlami d'amore" by Muccino.

Together with Enrico Ruggeri, he continues to compose songs for many performers, including Fiorella Mannoia, Gianni Morandi, Anna Oxa and Loredana Bertè. Also as a musician, he has played on Gianna Nannini's records, Clandestino, Spain.
